ROCK SHOPZILLAH! CAMP DOCUMENTARY FILM

by Equinox Productions

A lucky bunch of kids and professional artists gather each year on a funky little island farm to learn how to make music and film together. Watch and listen to them find their voices! Help us finish our short documentary about camp and plan for next year!

Rock ShopZillah! is always a fun and rewarding film & music summer day camp experience for local kids and families. It includes 5 days of intense five hour music and film study, peppered with movement and art sessions. Most often falling  four days before the 4th of July, rockers get to design and build  a float, help design and make costumes as well as learn to write original songs, sing and  play instruments and perform with a rock band.

Film students are given a professional film crew to work with and allowed to develop an original short film from storyboard to footage in the can and ready to send to our editor, Sean Thompson. The culmination of camp is actually playing heavily amplified music on a Fourth of July parade float they built down the main street of town to a cheering crowd of thousands, while our film students capture the whole experience behind the cameras. We are fundraising to pay for post production costs to distill the last two years of filming down into a 21 minute short film about camp and these fantastic kids!
